The Arkansas Department of Education launched a universal application system Tuesday for colleges and universities in the state.

The portal launched a little over a year after Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders signed the Arkansas ACCESS Act, which directed the department to create a “uniform application” for college admissions in the state.

Thirty-four public universities and colleges, and eight private schools, are currently accepting applications submitted through the ACCESS Portal, according to its website. …
