The U.S. Coast Guard’s Eagle celebrated America’s 250th birthday in New York Harbor, leading a parade of traditional tall ships — much like it did in Newport for the bicentennial in 1976.

The Ocean State may not have gotten “America’s Tall Ship” for this year’s Fourth of July festivities, but Rhode Islanders will still be able to see the 295-foot Eagle docked in Newport this month.
