More than 2.5 million voters in Michigan turned out to cast ballots in the Aug. 4 primary election, about half of whom voted in the U.S. Senate primary contest that carried Abdul El-Sayed to victory as the Democratic nominee over U.S. Rep. Haley Stevens of Birmingham.
