Keith Hoffmann kicked off the first television advertising campaign in Rhode Island’s crowded Democratic race for attorney general Tuesday with a 30-second spot and a plan to spend more than $1 million in paid media between now and the Sept. 9 primary.

The commercial shows Hoffmann with his family, walking near the Licht Judicial Complex in downtown Providence and speaking before crowds while highlighting his endorsement from term-limited Attorney General Peter Neronha.
