A tropical depression prompted storm surge and tropical storm watches for Florida’s western-most areas.

By Monday night or Tuesday, the depression is expected to become a tropical storm, according to the National Weather Service’s National Hurricane Center.

The Monday afternoon report from NWS says “an isolated tornado or two are possible over the Florida Big Bend region today.”
